EPES Proud to Support Yorkshire Women Ahead of Championship Semi-Final

EPES is proud to continue its support of Yorkshire Women as they prepare for a crucial semi-final in the 2025/26 Gill Burns Women’s County Championship Division 1.

Following a strong and determined campaign, Yorkshire Women now return to Huddersfield Laund Hill RUFC to face Eastern Counties, with a place in the final at stake. It is another important milestone in what has been an impressive season for the squad, reflecting the continued progress and development of the women’s game across Yorkshire.

As Managing Director of EPES and President of Yorkshire RFU, Tony McNally has seen first-hand the rapid growth of the women’s game at the county level and the importance of continued investment and support.

He said:

“The women’s game is still growing and developing, which makes support and investment really important. With continued backing from sponsors, clubs and supporters, the game can keep moving forward and create even more opportunities for women and girls in rugby. Having a stage like this in the semi-final, and hopefully a final, gives players the chance to showcase what they can do and hopefully inspire the next generation.”

For EPES, supporting Yorkshire Women is about more than sponsorship — it is about helping create the right environment for people to develop, progress and perform.

Tony McNally added:

“Sponsor support is absolutely vital. At this level, it directly impacts the players and the people around them. It helps create the right environment for training, development and performance, while also giving players the opportunity to experience big occasions like this. For coaches and support staff, it provides the resources needed to prepare properly and continue raising standards throughout the season.”

The importance of local business involvement is also a key part of the continued growth of the women’s game across the region, strengthening the connection between sport, community and industry.

“It’s fantastic to see businesses like EPES and Bowers Electricals supporting Yorkshire Women and county rugby. That backing shows a real commitment to the local community and the long-term growth of the women’s game. These partnerships make a genuine difference, not just financially, but in helping raise the profile of the sport and the opportunities available within it.”

EPES Sponsor Yorkshire Women's RugbyLooking ahead to the semi-final, McNally reflected on what reaching the final would represent for everyone involved in the squad:

“Reaching the final would be a tremendous achievement for everyone connected to the squad. The players, coaches, volunteers and support staff have all put a huge amount of work into this campaign, and it would be a reward for the dedication and commitment shown throughout the season. It would also be another positive step forward for women’s rugby in Yorkshire.”

EPES would like to wish Yorkshire Women the very best of luck in Sunday’s semi-final and looks forward to continuing its support of the growth and success of the women’s game.
