Super-compact and highly efficient, Bowers’ new Eco Transformers range is fully compliant with new EU Commission Regulation 548/2014. The legislation, which relates to small, medium and large power transformers, means that all new units put into service from July 2015 onwards must comply with strict minimum energy efficiency requirements.
The Bowers Ecodesign transformer range – designed to meet the harmonised Ecodesign transformer standards developed by the national and international standards bodies – is available now and can be engineered to meet customers’ exact specifications by Bowers’ in-house team in Heanor, Derbyshire.
Managing director Michael Bowers says: “The new Ecodesign directive is part of the EU’s 20-20-20 aim and could result in savings of approximately 16TWh a year – or a staggering 3.7 million tonnes of CO2 emissions – by 2020. Transformers like ours can make a real difference to the EU’s energy consumption and as a business we’re very excited to be leading the field in terms of new technology.”
